From Pete's Desk

He Used To Be Younger

High School

Pete actually made the Orleans High School Varsity Basketball Team as a Freshman. (He is #15 if you don't recognize him)

Who says white men can't jump?

At 6' 1½" he was the shortest center in the league but he held his own against them all.

1957 Bay State Champs

The Orleans High School Basketball Team won the Baystate Tournament at Tufts University, beating Westford Academy. Pete was a Junior that year.

Boston Garden

Orleans played Perley High of Georgetown, MA in Boston Garden in the opening round of the Tech Tourney on February 25,1958.

We won 49-36!

It was the first and only time he played in the Boston Garden.

During practice, they shared the court with some of the Boston Celtics. Pretty big deal for this local boy.

Chatham Town Team - 1960s

Pete played "town team" ball until he was 28. He had to stop then because he would be too sore after a game to work.

Score one against Colin

Who knew Colin Stevenson and Pete would both move to Harwich and become good friends?

Pete Even Played a Little Soccer

He had to play defense. He couldn't run as fast as the big dogs.
